No One Will Know

By April 2, 2025No Comments

Set against the stunning backdrop of a windswept island and its mysterious lighthouse, Rose Carlyle’s second novel, No One Will Know, establishes her as an author in command of the page-turner. This thriller reveals the terrible consequences of greed, lies and fatal mistakes.

No One Will Know is a breathtaking, twisty read that is so suspenseful I read this novel in one sitting. It’s a claustrophobic read, with characters that jump out of the page and an atmospheric setting. At the heart of the story is a young woman trying to do her best for her child. But she is adrift in a world where ruthless people are ruled by greed and will do anything for themselves, no matter the consequences to others’, Karen McMillan writes in NZ Booklovers.

‘Second novels can often be troublesome for authors, especially those whose debut was as successful as Carlyle’s was. That success allowed her to quit her job and write full time and far from that being a burden it feels like she’s enjoying herself, able to delve into serious issues while turning out engaging thrillers with settings and characters that draw heavily on her own life experience’, writes Greg Fleming in Kete.

‘…just as Eve fits her job as thriller/fairy tale heroine perfectly, everyone else clicks into place to drive the twists of the skilfully plotted rollercoaster. No One Will Know entertains with its lavish and memorable set pieces, the mysteries hidden inside mansions and lonely lighthouses, and its ability to baffle the reader’, writes Sara Bucher in the Aotearoa New Zealand Review of Books.
